The CHELLIS project is an innovative educational initiative designed to integrate environmental education with language learning for adult learners across Europe. Funded by the Erasmus+ programme, CHELLIS offers an engaging platform where learners can improve their language skills in English, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Portuguese while also gaining insights into environmental sustainability. The project leverages inspiring stories that not only teach languages but also emphasise eco-friendly practices and awareness of global environmental challenges.
CHELLIS will support learners through a variety of resources, including a comprehensive handbook, an interactive online platform, and a collection of investigative field analyses that explore various environmental issues. The project also enriches the learning experience by incorporating art, as it collaborates with artists from across Europe to create visual stories that enhance the thematic content of the educational materials.
This project aims to empower learners to adopt more sustainable lifestyles while improving their language proficiency, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to create a more environmentally conscious and multilingual European citizenry.
