Youth Employment Initiative (YEI)

The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is an initiative funded by SICAP which supports work with young people aged between 16 - 24 years of age. YEI supports young people both individually and through group work; to progress to education or employment. Each young person meets with the Youth Employment Job Coach & Mentor, creates a Personal Action Plan and is supported to work towards, and achieve their own goals.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAMME DO?

The Youth Employment Initiative provides a variety of ways for young people to engage:

  1. Individually
  2. Group Work
  3. Workshops
  4. Information Sessions

Sessions can be delivered in person or remotely via Zoom / Phone depending on the young person’s need and current government guidelines at any given time.

All young people are initially met individually and registered under the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP). A Personal Action Plan is created and, depending on the needs of the individual, they may continue to work individually with the Youth Employment Job Coach & Mentor or they might benefit from engaging in group work. Group work can vary as it is tailored to meet the needs of each group. Typical services under our Youth Employment Initiative include the following:
